MAEGAN MARSHALL

Instructor - Jazz

Maegan Marshall has been teaching dance for over 20 years. Initially trained in Saskatchewan in jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, contemporary, modern, and ballet en pointe, Maegan has also pursued training in Toronto and New York. She spent five summers touring with SaskExpress and has since had the privilege of choreographing pieces for seven of their summer tours. A celebrated and highly awarded choreographer, Maegan has collaborated with other studios and dance companies including the Abiding Lines Dance Company in Saskatoon. Maegan achieved Licentiate status with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, SK branch (stage division – jazz), and received the CDTA National Achievement Award in Jazz. She is also trained in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT levels 1 and 2) and is Alixa flexibility trained. She has taught, choreographed, and adjudicated for many dance and theatre workshops and competitions across Saskatchewan. Most recently, Maegan has taken up Latin dancing and continues to train and perform in salsa and bachata.  
  
Maegan holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy degree. She is the Clinical Team Lead at CBI Health Preston where her physiotherapy practice specializes in dance injuries and injury prevention, and dizziness and balance disorders. Maegan is passionate about combining her two professions and has become a resource for teachers, students, and other healthcare providers on the topics of injury prevention, movement analysis, and dance rehabilitation. She is proud to have trained and mentored many students who have moved on to professional careers in the performing arts, as well as post secondary professional dance training and dance teaching certifications. Maegan hopes to use her skills as a dancer, educator, and clinician to help dancers develop into strong, technically refined, and creative artists.
