Mini Express & The Expressions
Inspired by the SaskExpress Theatre Company, these two junior performing groups are one of the most unique triple threat training opportunities offered through our studio programming. The Minis are the apprentice group for younger / new performers and The Expressions are the more advanced group for older / experienced performers. All members act, sing, and dance, but can audition to be featured in certain areas.
Throughout the year, cast members learn a dynamic musical theatre style show, explore character development and performance techniques, and perform this show for various audiences in and around Regina from September - June (Fall Cast) and July - August (Summer Cast). Highlights include an annual Christmas show, student led Fundraiser show, School Tour, and an original spring show written by our incredible director, Alora Jephtais-Crail!
FALL CAST (Sept - June)
The auditions will be August 30th 2025 from 2-6pm. The link is on the audition form to sign up for your specific time and also for the dropbox to load their music. They can also register for the program on our site so long.
The Minis and expressions will also be running differently this year. It will not have a director. We will have a team of teachers working on Acting, singing and dancing to create the best junior touring group in Saskatchewan.
Fall Cast Meet and Greet Assessment
Our fall cast rehearses weekly beginning in September with their season ending in late June. Cast members will have the opportunity to perform in Regina and surrounding area throughout the year as well as take part in the annual winter show, spring fundraiser, school tour, and the Premiere Performance of SaskExpress.
Performers have the opportunity to audition as a singer, a dancer or both. During the audition, performers will be adjudicated by the Directors of the Regina Mini Express & The Expressions. Singers will need to prepare 32 bars (ie. a verse and chorus) of a musical theatre or Broadway style song (no pop songs). Dancers will need to prepare two solos of at least one minute in length and in contrasting styles. If you are auditioning for both, you will be required to prepare one song and one dance solo, each approximately one minute in length. All those auditioning will take part in a movement/dance audition during call backs which are held later in the day at the end of the scheduled auditions.
