LUCY DOBSON

Assistant

Lucy started her dance journey when she was 3 years old in 2013. She started as a recreational dancer but at 6 started to dance competitively at Dance City. Lucy started in Tap and Ballet, but her skills quickly expanded to Jazz, Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Hip-hop. Ever since she could remember, hip hop has always been her main passion and enjoys being a part of the hip hop culture in Regina. Lucy has been performing on stages across Regina for 11 years and performing competitively for 8 years and counting. She has had experience in all sizes of groups, from large groups of over 50 people, small groups with 9, as well as solos, duos, and trios.

Lucy has been fortunate enough to perform multiple exams in multiple genres of dance. Lucy has completed her ADAPT Jazz Exams up to Pre-Intermediate 2, ADAPT Tap exams up to Pre- Intermediate 2, CDTA Tap Exams up to Grade 2, RAD Ballet Exams up to Grade 5, and Vocational exams up to Inter Foundation, with more to come. Lucy loves learning new things and challenging herself to new heights even if the task is difficult and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.

This will be Lucy’s second year of teaching, and she has just joined the SaskExpress family this year. Although she is a beginner in the teaching world, she strives for success in all she does and will grow with the students as time passes. She has a burning passion for music which has branched out to choreography and dreams of teaching her own class and choreographing for her own students. In the future she hopes to become a choreographer or a musician and is trying her best to reach her goals!
