KRISTA KONKIN

Vocal Instructor - Vocal Technique, Musical Theatre

Originally a Moose Jaw girl who trained at Doris Sitter School Of Dance, Krista performed with the Saskatchewan Express summer cast in 1992 and a handful of years later graduated top of her class from Sheridan’s Musical Theatre Performance program. She spent the next decade working as an Equity professional on show contracts as a singer/dancer/actor, before evolving into the world of direction/choreography. Krista then spent her 30s as Artistic Director of both her own theatre company - which produced several original musicals to sold-out audiences - the AD of Ptarmigan Arts, a community arts organization based on the BC coast and, most recently, as Interim Executive Director for Dance Saskatchewan. All the while, Krista has taught numerous performing arts workshops throughout Canada, and done freelance work as a Digital Communications consultant for artists, entrepreneurs and small creative businesses. She is happy to be back in the SaskExpress family almost 30 years later as staff and as a studio Mom whose 6 year old Sawyer will be taking her own classes this year.
